What types of lessons do you offer?
Group classes (once weekly), 1:1 lessons (30 minutes), 1:2 lessons, family groups, and self-study programmes.
Do I need to buy materials?
No — all required materials are included. A textbook may be recommended for some 1:1 students depending on their learning style.
What is the difference between group, 1:1, and self-study?
Group: weekly live class + materials
1:1: personalised 30-min lessons
Self-study: learn independently with full video + PDF library, starting any Monday
2. Scheduling & Attendance
How often are lessons and how much should I study?
Group: 1 hour/week.
1:1: 30 minutes/week.
Self-study: flexible.
We suggest ~2 hours/week of extra practice.
What if I need to miss a class?
You’ll still receive the week’s material.
For 1:1 lessons, 24-hour cancellation notice is required to avoid being charged.
Can I pause or resume my studies?
Yes — just contact us when ready to restart.
3. Speaking Practice
Will I get enough speaking practice?
Yes — all formats include structured speaking time.
Group lessons use breakout rooms; 1:1 and mini-groups naturally offer more.
Are there extra speaking opportunities?
Yes — optional add-ons include chat groups and Masterclasses.
4. Levels, Progress & Certification
How long does it take to learn Portuguese?
It varies by study habits and previous language experience.
Our 9-level programme generally progresses one level per trimester.
Do you prepare students for certificates/exams?
Yes — we prepare for official European Portuguese exams (e.g., CIPLE) and can issue attendance certificates.
5. Teachers & Language Variety
Do you teach European or Brazilian Portuguese?
Only European Portuguese.
What languages do your teachers speak?
All teachers speak Portuguese & English; some also speak German, Spanish, or French.
6. Learning With Others
Can two people learn together?
Yes — we offer 1:2 private lessons and family groups (up to 4 people).
Can two people share the same screen?
Yes — we offer a discounted double-screen option.
7. Switching Courses or Levels
Can I start with self-study and later join a group class?
Absolutely — self-study starts any Monday, and you can switch at the next level or trimester.

Do you offer discounts?
We don’t have an ongoing returning-student discount, but email subscribers receive occasional special offers.
